After an hour plus on the bus, we reach Hong Kong International Airport, it’s time to really say good bye to Hong Kong. We walked around, and then decided to eat something before we board the plane.
I decided that we just eat at the food court, and we chose 正斗粥麵專家 （Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop）.
After queuing up for some time, order, and wait again, finally we can eat!
Well, the wanton noodle is okay, the char siew taste okay too, overall, just an very average dish. 5.0/10
After my first visit to Lot 10 Hutong more than 1 year ago, I still wanted to go back to it everytime I came to Kuala Lumpur since there are just so much food there yet for me to try. Hence, here I am back to this food court again.
This time, instead of trying back the same thing, I and LY opt to try other stuff. Since it’s early, and the food court is pretty empty, we walked around and see what should we have.
I decided to give Kong Tai Singapore Bee Hoon @ RM8.30 a try. It was marvellous as I truly enjoy it. Very fragrant and it was the wet type which I loved. A single flaw of this is I don’t really enjoy the chilli though. 7.8/10
Tok Tok Tok….Tok Tok Tok….Tok Tok Mee is one of the first few food I wanted to try ever since I read it from Vkeong’s Blog. However, since it only sold in the morning, and with a wet market nearby to it only means parking space is hard to find. The long waiting time doesn’t help too. Hence, I am too lazy to go there just for a plate of noodles.
This was until 1 fine day, I was in Bukit Mertajam for the St. Anne’s Annual Novena & Feast Day Celebration, I decided, yes, it’s time to give this a try. The long queue before me when I want to made my order only lead to me thinking, man, this is true, I really gonna wait for sometime until my noodle was served.
Besides, it seems to me that they do not operate in 1st come 1st serve basic. They tend to served few tables located in the same area all at once, which I think is very unfair as some people might only need to wait for 5 minutes, while some like me, need to wait for more than 30 minutes!
Wantan mee, something simple to prepare, yet most of the time when I order 1, I either get something that’s too salty or the noodle is too dry. It might be the fact that it’s so easy to prepare until any Tom, Dick and Harry and come out from no where, simply set up a stall at any food court and start selling it, which greatly increase the chances for you (and me too) to get a below average plate of Wantan mee that’s below par, even in Penang.
Due to the fact that it’s so normal, and easily found in most places, Wantan mee is also something that you rarely see there’s a shop that sell Wantan mee solely, or as the shop main attraction. However, this Wantan mee stall at O&N Coffee Shop had did it.
